Early Years
Learnt with Yeovil Town Band at age of 17 after many years playing clarinet, learnt on baritone. My younger brother was playing cornet and having more fun than me so decided to change instruments. taught by the late Ray Hunt.
Previous Bands
 In 1979 went to Salford College of technology on the Band studies Course, tutors including Roy Newsome, Goff Richards and David Loukes. Played with Eccleston Band and Newton Heath. 1982 became first girl member of Sherborne Town Band, then Stoke Sub Hambdon band before meeting Gary and joining Wincanton Silver Band, I also had a short stint in the 80’s conducting the then Crewkerne Concert Brass .
Favourite Music
  Favourite composer is still Eric Ball, favourite pieces Resurgam and Journey into Freedom.
Other Stuff…
 Met my Husband Gary through banding have 3 children who have all learnt but Martin Hill and Zoe Rodgers only two to still play,Highlights include playing in concerts conducted by Harry Mortimer and Walter Hargreaves, workshop with Eric Ball and interviewing the great but gentle man for my dissertation. Also playing at national finals at the Albert Hall.  huge supporter of Yeovil town Fc, love cooking gardening and travelling.
