Favourite music
Mostly classical, Beethoven, Mozart, Elgar, Vaughn Williams, Sibelius – love playing in massed bands or with a choir
Beatles – used to play along with the radio on flute
Favourite pieces of music -Fantasia on a theme of Thomas Tallis, Overture to the Meistersingers, Tam O’Shanter, Sea Songs, Pomp and Circumstance Marches
Bohemian Rhapsody (discovered Queen at the same time as brass bands)

Other stuff
Began brass purely by chance when an accident prevented me playing flute for six months. Very grateful to Hyde Training Band for starting me off and Verwood Town Band for giving me the opportunity to compete for the first time.
Was the first person to take an Associated Board exam on the Wagner tuba.
